DESCRIPTION: \nLinking Indy Women Presents:  \nThe 25 Percent\n \nGuest Speaker: Kelly McBride\, Executive Director\, DVN\n\nDid you know October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month?\n25 percent.\nThat is\, one out of every four women experience domestic violence in their lifetime.\nThat’s one reason why we’re so excited to welcome Kelly McBride to this month’s event. Don’t miss our evening happy hour to hear her story and connect with the rest of the LIW crew!\nAbout Kelly.\nKelly has provided leadership to the Domestic Violence Network for the past four years. Three of those years\, she was the Director of Community Engagement and coordinated the community wide plan\, Peace in Our Homes\, as well as the coordinated community response and oversaw the development of the Community Wide Plan to End Domestic Violence (CWP 3.0). She works extensively with all sectors of the community to ensure that victims are safe and perpetrators are held accountable for their actions. Prior to working at the Domestic Violence Network\, Kelly was a victim advocate in Court 21\, Protective Order Court for the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
