After 15 years of experience in marketing and communications, including working for a Fortune 500 company, being a published journalist for one of the largest newspapers in the U.S., managing crisis communications when the Reliant Astrodome and other facilities were used as shelter after Hurricane Katrina, handling events and collaborating PR efforts with celebrities and professional athletes, relaunching a marketing department for Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, and now establishing a department as Director, Communications for The Indianapolis Public Library, Kim Crowder is all about taking on new challenges.

Kim has overseen public relations efforts while working with local, national, and international media, including Conde Nast, The Oprah Winfrey Show (Yes, she met Oprah!), MTV, BBC London, CBS News, The Learning Channel and more. She is the winner of several national awards and has spoken on panels, written blog posts, been a guest on podcasts, and given presentations covering a variety of marketing and communications topics, including two talks at the 2018 American Library Association conference.

Kim is a native of Houston, TX, and when she is not enjoying her professional endeavors, you can find her singing throughout Indianapolis, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, Latin dancing, attending an artsy event, or laughing hysterically with family and friends.
